Spars and fights guide - the ins and outs Empty
PostSubject: Spars and fights guide - the ins and outs   Spars and fights guide - the ins and outs EmptyTue Nov 01, 2016 1:52 am

Fights and spars are a fickle thing when it comes down to it. Here on Seeking Redemption, we allow a variety of different kinds of spars, so be sure to read up on them as they tend to vary from site to site. These spars can be about a variety of different reasons, most are unclear.

KINDS OF SPARS

  • Maims - These fights only aim is to intentionally maim their opponent. Maims include breaking bones, ripping off ears, permanently blinding opponents, etc. Generally there is a reason for this kind of fight, however, in Sardothien it's a common occurrence. Be sure to show proof that you and your opponent agreed to this kind of fight. Proof such as screen shots of both of your's discussion on the topic. Fight requests won't be accepted without proof!
  • Dominance spars - This is a common occurrence between all wild canines and felines to show who's stronger. These kinds of fights can be seen here on SR. This kind of fight normally is used between rogues or pack canines and felines. Commonly used to settle disputes between two characters. Serious damage may be afflicted, however, the chances of this are unlikely as this isn't what this particular fights aim is.
  • Practice Spars - A harmless fight that generally littermates, two warriors or warrior pupils do to prove their worth or test out their abilities. Normally no serious injuries are afflicted to each opponent.
  • Death Match - Like the name imply's this fight is to the death. Two characters fight with the intentions of killing each other. These fights are on the more serious spectrum and are not handled lightly. Nero must approve of this fight along as you must give proof that you and your opponent have agreed to this fight.
  • Rank Challenges - These fights are a common occurrence in Sardothien or any pack in general. These fights are aimed at gaining higher ranks between two characters. These fights are also generally used to see if a specific canine or feline deserve this specific rank or a higher rank in general. These kinds of spars do NOT have to be approved by a staff member, however, you must notify a member of the staff and notify the member who roleplays the character you are challenging. These fights generally don't have to maim in in mind, however, it is possible.
  • Defending - Anyone can attempt to defend anyone in any given situation. These fights are solely trying to defend someone from another person. Maiming can occur in these kinds of fights.
  • Force-breeding - This kind of fight's sole purpose is to forcefully breed with any given gender. Any gender can force breed any gender. Maims generally do not occur in this kind of fight, however, it is possible.
  • Self- defence - Anyone can try self defend themselves. This fight is focused solely on defending yourself rather than injuring your attacker. These fights generally happen because someone is either trying to force breed you, attack you, kill you, or take you as a hostage (more commonly used for if you're a scout).
  • Punishment - A fight an Alpha or higher up ranked character uses to punish their subordinates. Maiming isn't the goal of this kind of fight, however, it is possible.
  • Kidnapping - A fight that's sole purpose is to effectively kidnap their opponent. Generally no harm comes to the victim, however, harm can occasionally happen especially when the victim is struggling and fighting back.

ALLOWED MIX MATCHED SPARS

On the special occasion, some spars can become a single spar instead of two separate ones. Below is a list of allowed fights that can become a single given fight.

  • Dominance and force breed
  • Dominance and maim
  • Force breed and maim
  • Rank challenge and maim
  • Kidnapping and maim

FLEEING
Fleeing from a fight is ALLOWED here on SR just like it is in real life in the wild. Opponents can always decide to flee from a fight that they were losing to unless it's a Death Match. However, fleeing isn't as easy as it sounds. First, you need to be able to get away from your attacker and they CAN attempt to chase you down. You MUST be realistic when you attempt to flee. If the two roleplayers cannot determine a realistic way to flee and pursue a member of the staff will determine for you.

NOTES
It is important you read these notes as it can affect the outcome of the spar.

  • There is NO EDITING a post once you have posted your reply. Doing so will result in immediate disqualification. If you forgot the spar code have an admin or mod do it, not you!
  • Be as detailed as possible in your reply! This can greatly affect the outcome of your fight.
  • Members can judge fights too! However, a staff has final say on the outcome of the fight.
  • You have five turns to post in any fights or spars unless it's a practice spar.
  • You have a week (5 days) to fight as a time limit. If you'll be gone during that time be sure to pm a staff member and you can come to the conclusion as to how much extra time you'll have. Otherwise, your fight will be immediately forfeited, unless it's a Death Match.
  • No God-Modding or Power-playing. To see more information about this, please click here.

SPAR STATS

Whenever you are fighting or sparing you MUST use this code at the bottom of this code. Failure to comply will result in an immediate loss to that said fight or spar. You get ONE free full dodge per spar. Once it's used the rest of your dodges will be half-dodges.
